WWBOTA Awards

WWBOTA Awards are based on your WWBOTA Logger data, if you are not logging on WWBOTA Logger then now is the time to start.

Legacy claims for those still using our old trackers may still, for the time being, be made to our awards manager by email: awards@wwbota.org/

We strongly recommend you log all your future WWBOTA contacts with WWBOTA Logger.

These awards, issued by WWBOTA are in addition to national awards issued by WWBOTA partner nations (where applicable). For links to national Bunkers on the Air schemes please use the link provided on this page.

Hunter's / SWL's WWBOTA Lifetime Award

  • Work bunkers outside the country of the hunter, e.g. if you are a Belgian hunter then Belgian bunkers do not count for this Award but QSO with UK bunkers do.
  • Each bunker may only be claimed once in a lifetime.
  • In this case of multi-bunker activations, one point may be claimed for each bunker, e.g. if an ON hunter works a UK station activating B/G-0457 AND B/G-0458 at the same time then two points can be claimed.
  • One point per bunker.

Initial levels:

  • Bronze 100
  • Silver 250
  • Gold 500
  • Platinum 1000
  • Diamond 1500
  • Master 2000

… we will add additional levels at a later date.

Activator's WWBOTA Lifetime Award (Bunker to Bunker)

  • This award is gained for working Bunker to Bunker QSO with bunkers in another country, e.g. a QSO between a bunker in UKBOTA and UKBOTA does not count, but a bunker to bunker UKBOTA to OKBOTA does count.

  • Where more than one bunker is activated, at the same time, in either side of the B2B QSO, then all combinations score. If a UK activation is from 2 bunkers at the same time, and a Belgian activation is from 5 bunkers at the same time, then a total of 10 points are score by each activator.

  • Each bunker to bunker combination can only be claimed once in a lifetime.

  • One point per B2B QSO combination.

Initial levels:

  • Bronze 50
  • Silver 100
  • Gold 250
  • Platinum 500
  • Diamond 750
  • Master 1000

… we will add additional levels at a later date.

Tracker in Excel

To assist in keeping track of QSO for WWBOTA Awards the two Excel files available below may be helpful.

Version 2 of the Activator B2B tracker and accompanying notes is below:

V2 Notes

First Time Setting Up. Make sure you have deleted the example data in the yellow boxes on the Info sheet (see sheets tabs bottom left), and entered your personal data, before you begin.

2. On the Activator B2B Tracker:

a. Your and their WWBOTA references must be correctly entered, there is presently no error checking of Bunker refs. There should be no spaces but every entry must include the ‘/’ and ‘-‘ signs, and formatted as listed in the WWBOTA master bunker list e.g. B/G-1000, B/GM-1234, B/ON-2134.

The tracker will check the location of both bunkers are in different schemes – if the Bunker Refs show a red cell background they are deemed in the same scheme or the pair is a duplicate of a previously claimed B2B QSO.

b. Dates entered before 1st October 2024 will not be accepted.

c. Time (if used) must include a ‘:’ sign, e.g. 12:05 is correct, 1205 is not.

d. Duplicate Bunker Reference combinations will show with a red background in column B and C, but the reverse combination IS allowed – ie you may activate from Bunker B/F-1234 to B/G-2132 AND, if able, from B/G-2132 to B/F-1234.
