    Step 2: Select Your Scheme

Choose the appropriate scheme from the dropdown. The system will remember your last selection.

    • For UKBOTA, a second dropdown appears to select the UK prefix (B/G-, B/GM-, B/GW-, B/GI-, B/GU-, B/GJ-, B/GD-)
    • The system defaults to B/G- and remembers your last UK prefix choice

    Step 3: Smart Reference Generation

    The reference system automatically:

    • ✨ Suggests the next available number based on existing bunkers and proposals
    • πŸ” Validates in real-time that your 4-digit number is unique
    • βœ… Shows green checkmark when reference is available
    • ❌ Shows red error if reference already exists

    Format: Enter exactly 4 digits with leading zeros (e.g., 0001, 0042, 1234)

    Step 4: Enter Bunker Details

    1. Bunker Name: Provide a descriptive name
    2. Bunker Type: Select from Cold War, WWII, WWI, Nuclear, Military, Government, or Other

    2. Drag the pin to fine-tune the exact position
    3. Coordinates and Maidenhead locator update automatically
    4. Blue clustered markers show existing bunkers from the API master list
    5. Yellow markers show pending proposals

    Step 6: Check for Duplicates

If any bunkers are within 500m, you'll see:

    • ⚠️ Yellow warning banner above the form
    • πŸ“Š Distance list showing exact separation
    • 🟠 Orange circle showing activation radius on map

    Step 7: Submit

Click "βœ… Submit". The proposal will appear in the Proposals tab with "Pending" status.

🌍 What does the Public Access toggle do? Admin Only β–Ό

The "🌍 Public Access" toggle (top right corner, admin only) controls who can access this tool and submit bunker proposals.

    When DISABLED (default):

    • πŸ”’ Only National Coordinators and Administrators can access the tool
    • πŸ”’ Only these users can submit bunker proposals
    • πŸ”’ Non-logged-in users see "Access Restricted" message

    When ENABLED:

    • 🌐 Anyone can access the tool (even non-logged-in guests)
    • 🌐 Anyone can submit bunker proposals
    • 🌐 Anyone can upload CSV files
    • 🌐 Guest submissions are labeled as "Guest User"
    • ⚠️ All submissions still default to "Pending" status
    • ⚠️ Only admins can approve/reject/delete proposals

    Recommended Use:

    Enable public access when:

    • Running a community campaign to collect bunker locations
    • Allowing club members to submit proposals without WordPress accounts
    • Crowdsourcing bunker data from the public

Security Note: All public submissions require admin approval before being added to the official database. The tool remains secure even with public access enabled.

πŸ’Ύ Does the system remember my preferences? β–Ό

Yes! The system uses your browser's local storage to remember:

    • βœ… Last selected scheme - Automatically selected next time you add a bunker
    • βœ… Last UK prefix (for UKBOTA) - Defaults to your last choice (B/G-, B/GM-, etc.)

How it works: When you select a scheme, it's saved to your browser. The next time you visit the Add Bunker tab, your last scheme is pre-selected, saving you time.

Privacy: These preferences are stored only in your browser and are never sent to the server.
